Mathematics and Applied Mathematics

This major cultivates high-level innovative talents with inter-disciplinary thought and international vision, who are qualified to engage in research, teaching, statistics and data processing, technology development, and decision-making management in departments, institutions, and industries such as technology, education, economy, and enterprises. Graduates' ability requirements

2. Capability requirements

3. Knowledge requirements
(1) Instrumental knowledge: cultivate good English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills for professional learning and academic research. Be proficient in computer use, conduct literature retrieval and grasp scientific writing skills.
(2) Knowledge of humanistic and social sciences: possess adequate knowledge in social sciences such as literature, philosophy, history, and economics.
(3) Knowledge of natural sciences: possess extensive knowledge of physics and conduct physical experiments. Develop a preliminary understanding of chemistry, life, earth sciences, and other related knowledge.
(4) Professional knowledge: form a foundation in intelligent data analysis, master rich mathematical knowledge such as analysis, algebra, geometry, and probability statistics and data mining, to meet the total and classification credit requirements in the professional specifications.
