课程描述： 

本课程将介绍生物技术——应用生物学的发现实现新疗法和工具的科学。我们将了解当今许多生物技术产品背后的科学，以及如何将其应用于生物医学来为社会作出贡献。本课程由阿德莱德大学分子生命科学学院的学术人员设计。

本课程中，我们将讨论微生物在生物技术中的作用，并探索重组蛋白在医学研究和药学中的应用。本课程将讨论不同的疫苗制造工艺。本课程还关注药物研发的过程，并讨论医疗发展管控的重要性。最后，本课程将探讨如何以商业规模生产生物技术产品，并讨论相关商业性生物技术的规范。

  The course will introduce you to biotechnology – the science of using biological discoveries to make new therapeutics and tools. We will learn about the science behind many of today’s biotechnology products, and how this has been applied to biomedical applications to improve society. This course has been developed for you by the University of Adelaide academic staff from the School of Molecular Life Sciences.

  In this course we will discuss the role of microorganisms in biotechnology and explore the application of recombinant proteins in medical research and pharmaceutics. We will discuss different vaccine manufacturing processes. We will also look at the process of drug discovery and discuss the importance of regulation of therapeutic development. And finally, we will explore how we can manufacture biotechnology products at a commercial scale and then discuss the principles behind the business side of biotechnology.
