Basic Requirements

Brief Introduction

Haide College ,Ocean University of China is a Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution established in collaboration with the University of Adelaide, Australia. Officially approved by the Ministry of Education on April 22, 2020, the college offers undergraduate programs in Biotechnology, Food Science and Engineering, and Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, with an enrollment of 1200. Located at the Laoshan campus of Ocean University of China, the college adheres to the principle of "Sino-Australian integrated and characteristic education".

Ocean University of China is a comprehensive key university directly under the Ministry of Education, covering a wide range of disciplines. It is a key university designated for the national "985 Project" and "211 Project," and in September 2017, it was selected as a Class A university in the national "Double First Class" initiative.

The University of Adelaide, established in 1874 and located in Adelaide, South Australia, is a member of the Group of Eight, one of Australia's top universities. REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES

1. Organize and implement high-level program development, formulate talent cultivation plans, and establish a quality assurance system for teaching.

2. Actively recruit and cultivate outstanding young talents, form high-level teaching teams, conduct advanced teaching research, and contribute to textbook development, actively fostering high-level teaching achievements.

3. Guide young faculty in enhancing their teaching skills, conduct exemplary public teaching sessions, organize teaching methods and discussions, as well as lectures and seminars.

4. Take responsibility for undergraduate courses, including lesson preparation and teaching tasks.

5. Actively engage in high-level research activities leveraging the Sino - Australian Smart Ocean Technology Joint Research Center, promote the integration of science and education, and mentor top-notch innovative talents. Lead high-level research projects and guide graduate students in their research projects.

6. Maintain effective communication with students, providing assistance and guidance; oversee student learning, including practical sessions, presentations, seminars, and field trips.

7. Participate in relevant administrative affairs related to the courses taught.

REQUIREMENTS

1.Have an Assistant Professor/ Lecturer title or have more than one year postdoctoral research experience in universities or research institutes.

2.Have outstanding academic achievements, excellent teaching ability and fruitful teaching results, be highly influential at home and abroad.

DUTIES

1.Participate in top-flight professional construction, personnel training plan formulation, and teaching quality assurance system construction.

2.Actively introduce and train excellent young talents, carry out quality teaching research and programs for writing teaching materials, and produce high-level teaching results.

3.Guide young teachers to improve their teaching ability, carry out demonstrative teaching activities and discussions, give lectures and organize seminars.

4.Undertake the undergraduate courses, and be responsible for lesson preparation, teaching and other teaching tasks.

5. Actively carry out advanced scientific research relying on the Sino-Australian Center for Smart Ocean Research. Promote the integration of science and education, and cultivate top-notch innovative talents. Preside over high-level scientific research projects. Guide postgraduates to carry out scientific research projects.

6.Keep good communication with students. Be responsible for guiding students’ study, including student practice classes, reports, seminars, student field visits, etc.

7.Participate in administrative affairs related to the courses, such as attending faculty meetings of Haide college, etc.

(1) Those meeting the requirements can apply for various talent welfare benefits at the national and local levels.

(2) Those meeting the criteria for postdoctoral research can assist in applying for the Qingdao municipal postdoctoral benefits. According to the "Implementation Rules for the Support of Postdoctoral Cultivation and Staying in Qingdao" policy:

1. Postdoctoral living and housing allowance: For on-site postdoctoral researchers (excluding those employed), a yearly living and housing allowance of 60,000 RMB per person will be granted, up to a maximum of two years, with a total amount not exceeding 120,000 RMB.

2. Postdoctoral settlement allowance: For postdoctoral researchers who left the post after June 6, 2018, completed employment procedures within 6 months after leaving, and obtained household registration in Qingdao (excluding those who were already in Qingdao before entering and were employed), a settlement allowance of 250,000 RMB will be provided.
