Students Of Haide College Achieve Great Success in Shandong Province College Students' Speech Contest!

On the afternoon of June 1st, the Shandong Province College Students' Speech Contest and the fourth Telling China's Stories in English Shandong Regional Event were held at Ocean University of China (Laoshan Campus). Wang Yizhe, a student from the 2020 Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (Sino-foreign cooperative education) program at Haide College, won the second prize.

According to reports, this Shandong Province College Students' Speech Contest was jointly organized by the China Institute for Innovation & Development Strategy, China Education Television, and New Channel International Education Group, and hosted by the School of Foreign Languages at Ocean University of China. The contest aims to implement President Xi Jinping's call in the 19th National Congress report to tell China's stories well, present a true, multidimensional, and panoramic view of China, and enhance the country's cultural soft power. It provides a platform for young people to promote Chinese culture and engage with the world, fully showcasing their achievements in inheriting and promoting Chinese culture.

With the theme Promoting Qilu Culture, Telling Shandong Stories, this year's speech contest attracted nearly 60,000 young students from 32 universities, including Ocean University of China, Shandong University, China University of Petroleum (East China), Shandong Normal University, Qingdao University, and Shandong University of Science and Technology. Using vivid language and brilliant storytelling, they promoted Chinese civilization, spread China's stories, and showcased the unique charm of Chinese culture.
