In order to further promote the college's mental health education and strengthen the construction of counselors, Haide College held the second session of Heart and Sea Science counselors' psychological special study meeting to learn the identification and evaluation of students' psychological crisis. Part-time counselors Zuo Yiru and Zhao Likang served as the leaders. All counselors of HaideCollege participated in this activity.
First of all, Zuo Yiru introduced the group prone to psychological crisis, the common mental disorders and mental diseases among college students and the signals and ways to identify the psychological crisis of college students. The ways to identify college students' psychological crisis include psychological survey, regular psychological investigation, psychological counseling feedback, daily details capture and so on. She says psychological crises are not trivial and are not invisible in everyday life. Counselors can identify students' psychological abnormalities in time from the aspects of cognition, emotion, will and behavior, which can effectively help students safely through the crisis and restore psychological balance.
Next, Zhao Likang introduced the assessment of students' psychological crisis. The ABC of psychological crisis assessment is to assess three aspects of state and function of students in psychological crisis: Affective (Affective, feeling or emotional state), Behavioral (Behavioral or psychomotor) and Cognitive (way of thinking). She explained in detail the information to be collected in psychological crisis assessment, the factors to be considered when focusing on key students and how to carry out risk assessment on students, which provided practical methods for counselors to manage students' mental health. In the crisis assessment of students, it is also necessary to consider various factors, analyze the situation according to the specific situation of students, and provide targeted assistance.
Through this collective study, the counselors had a further understanding of the identification and assessment methods of students' psychological crisis, and said that they would strengthen the process management, improve the early detection ability and the level of daily counseling, and continue to work hard to protect students' mental health.
